| Slapping a topic up here for now so I remember I have the option of posting in it! It shall be filled with miscellaneous, malleable Edinfos or musings I want/need to remember but am too lazy to arrange into an appropriately sitely format, and don't mind other people seeing. For now here's yet another plug to his website. CURRENT STATE OF ED: I haven't changed this in a while! The Ed is stocked up on booze and dried meatthings for the wintard and is politely disapproving of the new archmage. He's flustered and frustrated with how things are going, but is otherwise relatively content. VOICE OF ED: I know, I know, this is a different ref than the one I've been usually giving out. Shay's voice is accurate, but too deep. This one is just about perfect, though! (Clicking doesn't seem to work, but copy-pasting does!) http://www.freewebs.com/edwardmercier/eringramochroi.mp3

| STUFF OF ED: I keep confusing myself and forgetting the things Ed managed to take with or summon to him after he got aderp'd in Skuldhellir so I'm making a list of what he has and why he still has it for my own reference.
ACCORDIUMS: Ed spent weeks cramming his brain with spell formulae until he could cast--just once--a summoning charm on a mundane item. He chose his precious accordion! Even when separated from it through great distance, he was able to activate the charm with some difficulty and gain the accordion into his possession again. It's a little battered, but it's better than nothing, and it's helped him through his depression.
PAYPURRS AND STUFF: Ed carries a select few documents with him at all Times; the papers that're sticking out of his clothes everywhere are usually these. A few of Edward's most important blueprints and letters managed to make it through his dimensional trip with him into Skuldhellir, but his others were not so lucky.
PIPE AND TERBACCY AND YARROW AND STUFF LIKE THAT: All on his person, all the Time. He's running low on the smokeysubstance and tea, though. ):

| THIS IS HOW YOU PLAY EDWARD, EDWARD In Times of rut I start to focus more on some aspects of my character and forget others. This is kind of easy for me to do since Ed is so multi-faceted and complicated and annoying, so I'm reminding myself of some of his traits, both prominent and obscure, because I always forget about SOME of them: - Spoiler:
1. VICE: He is a weeniebaby and runs away from scary things.
2. PERSONALITY: He has a very nervous manner--he's always fidgeting, twiddling his thumbs, etc.
3. MENTAL: He worries a lot. When somebody close to him is causing this, he'll typically tell them.
4. PHYSICAL: Said worry tires him out, so he's always got a general aura of sleeplessness about him. He has irregular insomnia, as well, which doesn't help things much.
5. MENTAL: He is very smart and insightful.
6. VICE: Despite that, he's also very childish, and may, on occasion, do something shamefully juvenile or unwise, and probably regret or feel humiliated about it afterwards.
7. MENTAL: This pretty much puts him in a perpetual state of embarrassment, which facilitates his previously mentioned nervous manner.
8. PHYSICAL: He doesn't make a fuss about pain (though he's whiny about stuff like being sore), but he has a very low tolerance for it, and it kind of shows by itself.
9. MENTAL: He is terrified of bunnies for no reason he could ever hope to give.
10. SKILL: He likes and has a talent for music.
11. PERSONALITY: While he is by no means stupid, when it comes to some subjects, he is painfully naive. Any mention of sex, for example, will cause his brain to shut down and try to stab itself.
12. VIRTUE: On that note, he is a celibate by choice, and doesn't appear to have any need or desire for a wife. This allows him an unusual point of view.
13. PERSONALITY: He does really like kids, though, and would adopt a needy one in a heartbeat.
14. SKILL: He is a bibliophile and a magical fanatic. Though he only employs a few types of magic, he knows about far more, and enjoys discussion pertaining to them.
15. SKILL: He's an accomplished woodworker and has some skills in smithing. These facts are little known, but his primary love and profession, clockmaking, is an art that requires both!
16. PERSONALITY: He hates his speech impediment. It goes away a little when he's at ease, but he never IS. He's tried numerous magical solutions, but none of them have worked very well.
17. VIRTUE: He is generally very humble and slow to anger. (Some things can quickly make him indignant, though... Provided you aren't, like, an 8 foot meat wall with two maces strapped to its back or something.)
18. VICE: He is addicted to smoking. He once was an addict, long ago, but he broke the habit--and now he's fallen into it again. It's done him some good, though, being one of the few things that can ease his nerves, and he's become a bit more relaxed because of it, but it certainly isn't doing his lungs any good.
19. PHYSICAL: He is physically messed up in some ways due to Paradox. His stomach doesn't always agree with him and neither do his lungs.
20. PHYSICAL: His bladder hates him, too, and he has been cursed with mild urinary incontinence. It is a source of GREAT SHAME and also plays a major role in his shunning of people as much as possible without making himself sad.
21. OTHER: Paradox derps him in other obscure ways, as well. This is something I always forget about. As failtastic as Edward is, there is a greater force that dogs him and makes his life more difficult because of his meddling in Time.
22. ATTACHMENT: He fucking loves Time, by the way. He theorizes about it all day, though he can't always put what he thinks of into words. He fawns over clocks and hourglasses and is appalled and horrified when he sees one get broken.
23. OPINION: His stance towards other chronomancers is interesting--he actually doesn't like them at all until they prove to him that they are not the power-abusing mongrels that have given the art such a bad name and nearly driven it out of practice entirely. If a chronomancer does not do so, Edward may go so far as to declare him or her an enemy.
24. PERSONALITY: He's self-conscious in a strange way. He doesn't think about how he looks very much, but he often goes to massive lengths to hide as much of his body as possible, sometimes in multiple layers. For some reason, though, he doesn't appear to mind wearing kilts or going pantsless under his nightshirt--but he hates short sleeves and can't stand being without some sort of hat. Why this is is difficult to say, and he probably couldn't tell you if he wanted to.
25. OPINION: He reaaaally likes purple but, somehow, doesn't seem to actually know it. He unconsciously chooses the color whenever possible and, when this is pointed out to him, reacts with neutral surprise, and then forgets about it. (Funnily enough, purple is the color of his aura, which may have something to do with why he is attracted to it.)
26. ATTACHMENT: He is very fond of his hat. Very, very fond of it. He goes sulky, unhappy and grumpy when separated from it for any length of Time and has claimed on many occasions that 'a wizard is only half of one without his hat'. Since being a wizard (and a traditional one, too, none of this newfangled nonsense!) is one of the few things he is proud of, this sort of makes sense.
27. PHYSICAL: His eyes suck. It makes him sad, because he likes looking at the finer details on things like crafted items, and can't anymore without getting very close. His glasses are made of fail but they hold sentiment; he has a very small enchantment on the lenses that he has to renew every few months that makes them slightly more effective.
28. OTHER: He shaves with cantrips. FUN FACT: If he were deprived of his magic for a while he'd end up growing a curly beard because he doesn't know how to shave any other way and is too much of a weenie to try at this point.
29. MENTAL: As afraid as he is of many or new people, he actually likes comfortable social interaction.
30. MENTAL/PHYSICAL: Every so often, he'll lock himself up somewhere for weeks on end to achieve WIZARDLY ENLIGHTENMENT. He usually comes out of these trances either more sober or more happy than he's been in a while, with a few more spells under his belt and probably also a polite request for a very large meal on his lips.
31. PHYSICAL: Edward doesn't like combat at all, but he's not too shabby at it if he's allowed to stay in the back, where he can freely whittle away at his opponents and buff his allies with his Timebending. When he's actually attacked upfront, though, he's an uncoordinated spazz, about as likely to stab his own eye out on his staff as he is to hit something with it. Any spells he'd actually get off would either be poorly formed or poorly aimed.
32. SKILL: He is very good at picking out, and keeping, rhythms and beats. This probably has something to do with his Timesense.
33. SKILL: He can't be late. If he is, he was held up by something he had no control over, and was having a fun Time being nagged by the Sense in his head for the entirety of the situation.
34. MENTAL: He has a small mental connection with his familiar, Magpie. They can sense each other's thoughts and even 'talk' to each other through the raw expression of emotion. Occasionally, though, he will express himself with words--Magpie can understand some of those, too, but can't speak in reply, of course. This ability mostly serves as convenience, and allows Edward a more substantial connection with one of his longest-known friends; Magpie is almost entirely unmagical and there are no special benefits to be gained from Edward's being able to speak to him.
35. SKILL: Edward likes languages and runes. He believes and understands that there is might in words, and although he isn't much of a runecaster, he uses them sometimes to enchant objects. Magic, of course, finds language pivotal, and Edward, on his more adventurous days, enjoys seeing what will become of a spell if he substitutes some words of its incantation with words of equivalent meaning in a different language.
36. VICE: Edward's taken to the boozeamahol as a temporary but immediate solution to his problems. He hates himself for it, but it's the only fix he has for his current emotional vulnerability.
37. PHYSICAL: He snores. Loudly. :[
38. PHYSICAL: Even before his Paradox-induced issues, Edward's always had a weak bladder. This and associated mishaps contributed to his poor self-image and unconfident manner when he was younger, and they've quite stuck.
I've probably forgot like nine bajillion more but I'll put them down as I think of them. Also did you really read that whole thing? Good lord. Unless you're me, because me SHOULD read that whole thing to remember what his character is like.

| Wamg character sheet. A lot of what's on here was repeated in the post two above this one but oh well. Anything in spoiler tags is something your character wouldn't easily know without interacting with him, even if you, OOCly, know it to hell and back. >8O ALIGNMENTLawful Neutral- Spoiler:
As a follower of Time, Edward is Lawful Neutral. The Law is generally good, and even when it isn't, it isn't his place to interfere. On a more personal level, however, he is more inclined towards the side of good than neutral. BASIC INFORMATION Race: Human Gender: Male Age: - Spoiler:

Fate, the loss of his old one, and the simple fact that he has no where else to go, and no means to get there even if he did. Known family members, and their relation to the character:- Spoiler:
Mother: Máire Mercier Living members amongst said family: - Spoiler:
None. PERSONALITY General happiness, 1-10: - Spoiler:
6 Social level 1-10: 4 Distinctive personality traits(Sarcasm, Black Humor, etc.): - Spoiler:
Nervousness, and he often makes a fool of himself in the face of humor--most jokes go right over his head because he attempts to analyze them literally and in all seriousness.
Ego of any sort: He doesn't have much of one. Greed of any sort: - Spoiler:
He's a bit of a glutton for knowledge and the things that grant it such as books and scrolls. Significant vices: - Spoiler:
He's an addicted smoker and has a little drinking problem. He's also a bit of a coward and is prone to doing stupid, juvenile things that shame him later on. Significant virtues: - Spoiler:
Edward is very patient, humble and slow to anger. He's also celibate and seemingly immune to lust and feminine wiles in the same way that a child would be. Feelings and tendencies towards alcohol: - Spoiler:
Edward doesn't typically like to drink too much, but he does admit it makes him feel better, and knows more about these things than he should. A brief personality description: Overall, Edward is a kind person; sympathetic and naive, he is easily taken advantage of, but his nervousness, timidity and general anxiousness make it difficult to get close enough to him to do so. He is something of an anomaly of ages, childish one moment, fatherly the next, with the easy-coming awe of a kid but the wisdom of someone far beyond his years; because of this, his true age is sometimes hard to guess. Like many mages, he is a brilliant--though, perhaps, not always creative--thinker. Favorite things in life(Foods, colors, events, etc.): - Spoiler:
Edward wears a lot of purple and often gravitates towards the color when making an aesthetic choice, but doesn't seem to notice, and reacts with neutral surprise when it's pointed out to him. He'll eat just about anything, but seems to largely enjoy the combination of tea and some sort of pastry. He likes birds and books a lot, and adores clockmaking. He has a soft spot for song, and owns an old accordion that he enjoys playing from time to time.
Least favorite things in life: Crowds, most wild beasts, water, conflict, cruelty. One of his most commonly known pet peeves is when people are very unspecific with naming a Time--"a little after three...ish". Additionally, damaging, breaking or ruining a clock or a watch is an easy way to make him flustered and unhappy. 1 Optimist, 10 Pessimist, 1-10: - Spoiler:
7. He's usually a whiny killjoy unless someone ELSE is being a whiny killjoy, in which case he tries sincerely to cheer them up. Significant or unusual traits or aspects: What about him ISN'T unusual? Their current every-day life: On an average day, Edward usually gets up, winds his clocks, studies his spellbook, goes to work, runs errands, haunts the library, takes naps all over the place, and then goes home and goes back to bed again. Oh and he eats and goes for walks and all that fun stuff too. At least, we think so. APPEARANCE Facial appearance(Includes hair): Not exactly handsome, but memorable and endearing; high forehead, large, pointed nose, thin, pointy jaw and kind, gentle gray eyes. He has a smattering of freckles across his cheeks and wears a pair of round, gold glasses that are too large for him. His age shows most clearly on his face; there are lines by his eyes and mouth, and a general weariness sometimes comes through his expressions. He has a short mop, slightly longer in the back, of unruly, curly red hair that mightn't have seen a comb in months; he keeps himself clean-shaven through a handy combination of cantrips. Skin color and appearance: Pale, lined and freckled. He appears unscarred, but it's hard to say--it's very rare that any of his skin, beyond that on his face and hands, is visible. General body build: Tall and skinny, but not at all in a very pleasant or attractive way--he's particularly bony and knobbly, with little to no muscle, though he's a little squishy around the middle. Best features: Probably his eyes and his magnificent schnozz. Worst features: Everything that is not his eyes or his magnificent schnozz. Favorite features of their own: - Spoiler:
He's never really thought about it. Every day apparel(If any): He's rarely seen without his distinctive purple robe and gigantic, zig-zagged pointy hat, both covered in golden runes. Beneath them he's typically clad in a high-collared shirt and dark pants, and a pair of very worn boots that have surely seen much better days. Armor, if any, and detailed descriptions of each piece: None! He's a wizard! The day wizards run around in armor is the day we all die.Weapon(s), detailed description of each: The Clock Hand; a staff crafted of sturdy, enchanted iron, fashioned in shape to match its name. - Spoiler:
Created by Edward himself, it is the only implement he has ever found that was attuned perfectly to himself and his brand of magic, and it is highly unlikely that it will ever be replaced. Any accessories(Bombs, enchantments, glasses, etc.): The oversized gold glasses mentioned above, a gold pocket watch, his belt and the little bags containing his reagents and his money. He also carries around a plain wooden pipe and a pouch of tobacco to smoke in it. Significant or unusual marks or traits: He has a distinctive and occasionally debilitating stutter that gets worse the more afraid, distressed or awkward he's feeling. He also has a gentle Erish accent. Physically, though, there's nothing really strange about him. ABILITIES The specialization of their class(berserking warrior, fire mage): - Spoiler:
Chronomancer. Skill and experience with their weapons: - Spoiler:
He's not very talented with weapons, but he can give something or someone a smart clock (u c wot i did der?) on the head with his staff if he needs to.
Skill and experience with any sorts of magic: - Spoiler:
Plenty. Edward is a dabbler with a strong interest in the dimensional branches of the arcane, with emphasis on Time. He's written a book or two about it, but he vehemently insists on keeping them to himself. Mastery of their class: - Spoiler:
Artisan. As innovative in the field of chronomancy as he has been, Edward is a bit of a bungler with actually using magic in general, despite his talent. Skill and experience with their professions: Edward is an excellent clockmaker, and probably the best around for miles. Skill and experience in battle: - Spoiler:
Not much. He gets through fights with a surprisingly small amount of strategy, due to acting purely on terrified instinct, which says 'throw lots of magical explodey things at its face and it'll stop'. As for participation, he actually has seen his fair share of combat. Pre-prime, in their prime, or post-prime: Edward could be considered in the prime of his spellcasting career. Physically, however, it is debatable whether he's ever had a prime. Favored weapons or skills: His staff, of course, and his magic. When possible, he prefers to use the latter to escape sticky situations rather than allow them to culminate into battle. Special abilities or unusual skills: He is always aware of the exact hour, even without a clock or a watch, and can easily and accurately give the Time if he's asked for it. He is a linguist and knows several languages with fluency. PROS AND CONS What is appealing about them to others: - Spoiler:
Many folk find Edward's awkwardness endearing, and are further rewarded when they get past it enough to become his friend. He makes for a good mentor; he's like a strange but affectionate uncle, and at the same Time often has good advice or insight to offer. Also, he's a wizard, so keeping him around for magical convenience isn't such a bad idea, either--even better, he's a chronomancer. It's kind of hard not to grow addicted to his handy ability to rewind things by a few minutes. What is unappealing about them to others: - Spoiler:
Some people can't stand his nervousness or general spinelessness, and his stutter can make him annoyingly difficult to understand. Many people value courage, and he doesn't exactly have very much of it. Warriors and followers of valor and glory will probably find his casual company bothersome, unless they catch him on a good day where his insight and intellectual faculties are potentially useful to them. He isn't a very good conversationalist, and more outgoing characters might be put off by his shy manner and bumblingly lengthy method of speech. Where do they favor in battle: - Spoiler:
Edward could be called a 'buff wizard'--most of his spells, usually in the form of Timebending, are used to aid his allies and disable his enemies. He is rather good at this aspect of combat if kept out of direct fire.
He's very good at running away or otherwise escaping combat entirely. Where do they lack in battle: Edward isn't so good at delivering damaging spells.
