Mossbeard der Troll (Yes, this is his actual name, because I say it is)

Alt Name: Mossbeard

The Troll:
Mossbeard is a hulking gray-skinned trollish rogue who carries a big-ass cleaver the size of a child and a round shield with hurtful spikes all over it. One could say that he's an odd combination of drifter/bandit/trader/sword-for-hire, seeing no reason why he shouldn't put all these shady practices to use considering that all can be used for personal gain, especially since his different "professions" supplement each-other. Ultimately, he does whatever needs to be done in order to get by and is not above taking on common jobs, and if no jobs are present, he is a top-notch hunter and can live comfortably in the most desolate wasteland thanks to his keen senses. His communication skills and temper could use some work.

Why he's in Skuldhellir: Mossbeard lost interest in the mountains and left at the first opportunity, hitching a ride with some dwarven pirates after threatening to eat the captain. They dumped him in Skuldhellir because he was decimating their rations.

- Tough, leathery hide.
- TROLL SMASH! Very brutish and strong. Scary.
- High endurance. Can take a lot of hits and doesn't tire easily.
- High pain tolerance.
- Incredible sense of smell, hearing, and sight. Can see in the heat spectrum.
- Face-removing claws and a bone-crushing bite.
- Surprisingly quick for a creature his size.
- Hair-trigger reflexes.

- Excellent wilderness survival skills
- Can be pretty sneaky (while outdoors)
- Fights like a rabid badger when provoked or threatened.
- Scavenger "stuff" sense. Can locate useful items easily.

- Regeneration! Recovers hundreds of times faster than a human and can regrow lost or damaged tissue.
- Fog. Once a day, he can manifest a thick sheet of fog that greatly reduces visibility.
- Human form. For one hour every day, he can take on a human form in which he will be considerably weaker, but immune to his troll-born weaknesses.
- 300-year lifespan.

Ability limitations: While Mossbeard can essentially regrow any single part of his body if it is lost, he'll just die if mangled badly enough. For example, if he's sliced in half, he probably won't be alright. If all of his limbs are removed and his head is not presently attached to his body at the same time, he probably won't be alright. While it is possible for him to regrow his head if his head is removed, he'll be rendered as stupid and uncoordinated as an infant troll for what could be months before his cellular memory finishes filling in the blanks upstairs. If his heart is removed or rendered unable to function, he's fucked. If all of his organs except for his heart are removed, he's fucked. If you put him in a giant blender, he's purée.

- FIRE BAD!!! Afraid of fire. Avoids it when he can and will usually flee if it is used against him. Sparks are enough to scare him off.
- Fire bad. Wounds made by fire take twice as long to heal.
- Acid bad. Wounds made by acid will not heal at all. The afflicted area must be removed.
- Sunlight bad. 30 seconds of direct exposure to sunlight will turn him to stone (reversed at nightfall.)
- Loud noises disorient him. REALLY loud noises can be crippling.
- Bright flashes can stun or temporarily blind him. Solar flashes created by mages can temporarily stone-ify him.
- Allergic to innocence. It makes him sneeze, gives him a headache, and manifests other flu-like symptoms.
- Superstitious and terrified of religious symbols.
- Not particularly bright.
- Easily distracted. Drop food or something that looks valuable if he's chasing you. He'll fall for the oldest trick in the book.
- Riddles. If asked a riddle, he has no choice but to drop what he's doing and try to figure it out, which he is unlikely to do. If he guesses wrong, he has to let you cross the bridge. Or do you some other favor if he isn't blocking one.
- Bells weaken him. Really loud bells (church bells) can turn him to stone.
- Merriment. He can't stand too much happiness in one place and is weakened by laughter, song, and dance when two or more people participate in such activities.
- Affection. If someone expresses genuine affection for Moss in any way, he can't harm them.
- Extremely ticklish. Being tickled completely saps his strength and renders him as helpless as a child. Just don't expect him to be your friend afterwards.
- The nose. Mossbeard's nose is the most sensitive part of his body, and getting hold of it means you win.
- 30% weakness to magic.
- High metabolism. Must eat. A lot.
- Reckless and sloppy fighting style.
- Poor communication skills.
- Has a powerful compulsion to slaughter and eat feral goats when he sees one. Might piss off a farmer or two.
- Ill-tempered.

Ability drawbacks: Regeneration burns a ton of energy and he'll be quite exhausted after recovering from serious wounds, and he'll also have to eat a ton in order to compensate for the lost energy.

Ok, I've changed the following.

Children and innocent people no longer make him "uncomfortable". He is now actually allergic to them and will get very sick for hours or days depending on how long he was exposed.

He can no longer make minion trolls.

He is now weakened by the sound of bells, even tiny ones. If a church bell rings with him anywhere nearby, he'll be instantly turned to stone. Kitty bells count. Anything with jingle-jangle grates on his nerves like a nails-on-chalkboard orchestra.

He is now terrified of fire. If he must be around fire, he will sit at the opposite end of the room from it. If anyone turns fire on him in any way (magic, swinging a torch at him) he'll flee without a second thought.

Merriment (laughter, song, loud dancing, clapping) is pure torture to him and may make him pass out if intense enough. This only works if there are two or more people engaging in such activities.

Affection. A hug. A compliment of how green his beard is. A display of affection renders him powerless against the one that offered it. Really, directing any sort of positive emotion towards him has this effect. This is tied in with his weakness to merriment, when positive energy radiates from a group in abundance.

How does he look now?

I think that'll work just fine! I'll let someone else do numbers, but I'm happy! :3

I should mention that the little grey cat NPC that wanders around the dream has a bell on his collar. >D (He's my cat IRL.)

Also lmao, allergic to children. I love Mossbeard so hard.
