| Despite being hard workers, dwarves are a very festive group. On top of the fact the town is only now really coming into it's own (attracting wizards, researchers, and the like), I believe their would be some kind of festivities they'd host. In addition to this, it'd make for some good RP. I'm not sure when, where, or if we want to do it near real holidays, but I'm sure there will be something. Maybe even monthly feasts? Or just weekly things? I'm a noob, and I don't have much room to speak, but I found this could be something fun and constructive, and get our characters out of the general hustle and bustle of the day to day life in a working backwater town. | |

| There were already plans for celebrating the founding of SH every year. There should probably be a lot of dorf-related ones too. Maybe a harvest/ore festival or the likes to appease the gods and ask for bountiful harvests and lots of ore veins. | |

| A harvest festival does make sense. Skuldhellir relies a lot on the farms around, and those farms likewise rely on Skuldhellir, and I'm sure a lot of the farmers visit the town often!
On top of that, there DEFINITELY needs to be a festival dedicated to booze. (aka the Brewfest, Kin. HURR HURR.) I was thinking it could be lumped with the harvest festival, but the dwarves probably hold their alcomahols in high enough esteem to give them a holiday all to themselves!
The founding day's already in place and will be an homage to the quick and clever dwarves responsible for Skuldhellir's building. There will be much drinking to the death of the dragon, and much talk of the legend of the dorf who may have supposedly slain it by tearing the edge of his shield through its throat as he was swallowed!
I imagine some of the guilds might have their own smaller holiday things, too. Maybe the fighters have a monthly feast and ceremony where they give titles to outstanding members and food and booze to everyone else (that's in the guild). Perhaps the wizards celebrate certain phases of the moon, or constellations, or holidays from Hat City. All three guilds might do something for their founding days!
There's lots of possibilities and I can't wait to see what folks come up with and what gets put in.

| Definitely SH's founding. Since it isn't really set in stone, I suggest we make it the date we bring the dream public. So we wouldn't get to celebrate it for another year, but it'll be a good measure for how long the dream's been open, yaknow? And it can be both IC and OOC.
Do keep in mind that SH itself is very young--only ten years old. So there's not a lot of Skuldhellir national identity and stuff.
That being said, holidays from Beard City make a lot of sense. I'd love an Oktoberfest-style holiday.

| Perhaps the occasional fair or circus? Or perhaps that type of folk to show up during those festivals. Much partytime is needed. | |

| This reminds me, one of the towns near here has Oktoberfest....
If it's plausable, a fair would be fun-- although it does seem a trifle odd to have one in SH... *chinstrokes*
