General:E-mail (OPTIONAL):Alt Name: Vidarr Bergsson
A brief description of your character:Species- Troll; like those of Scandinavian folklore.
Height- 7 foot, 3 inches.
Weight- About 220lbs.
Build- Heavy; muscular and well-fed.
Age- Probably a few hundred years-old, but still quite young for a troll. His age isn’t very apparent.
Birthday- 20th of October.
Hair- Rich woody-brown. It’s long enough to hang below his slightly hunched shoulders. It’s quite messy and matted.
Skin- Almost swarthy, but it’s difficult to distinguish his true skin colour from dirt and mud. He occasionally paints himself with coloured clay for camoflauge.
Eyes- Similar structure to that of a human’s, they work in the same way. Their colour is a very strong apple-green.
Scent- The aroma of the forest. Soil, pine, moss and fungi.
Voice- A soft rumble. When engaged in conversation his voice is deep and he speaks slowly, making him sound stupid. His accent is slightly Swedish.
Place of Birth- The forest surrounding Skuldhellir. His tribe settled there nearly two-thousand years ago and have remained quiet and mostly undisturbed since then.
Alignment- Good. His tribe are peaceful and will not attack unless threatened.
Religion- Ancestor and Nature worship, but with some respect for Norse and Germanic Gods.
Why/How is your character in Skuldhellir: Vidarr lives in the woodlands surrounding Skuldhellir, claiming to live with a small tribe of his trollish brethren. They frequently steal goats and other livestock, returning them a few days later unharmed and if anything, healthier.
Magic (OPTIONAL):---Max Preps (1-10): 2-prep.
Troll magic is different to that of hyoomans and furres. It revolves more so around ritual and summoning the elements of nature in order to execute spells, rather than the individual possessing the power. These spells are typically used to restore damaged woodland, speed up the blooming of plants and increase the yield of fruit-bearing plants. There are other, more obscure areas of magic in troll culture, but they are supposedly related to channelling spirits of ancestors.
His magic requires rituals that can take long periods of time to perform, and some may only be performed on certain days. Vidarr is incapable of using his magic in combat and also has no combat-orientated magic.
Strengths:---Natural:- Thick Skin – Somewhere in the region of light leather in terms of protection, although some trolls smother themselves in clay-like mud to shield themselves a bit more.
- Large Size and Strength – Well over the height of the average man and intimidating to even a large fur. Trolls possess great strength due to their chunky build.
---Learned:- Forest-lore. Vidarr knows what plants, minerals and fungi can be used to heal and cure, and those that can poison and kill.
- Tracking and Hunting. Vidarr can track many creatures through the woodlands and outside of his habitat. This is used to both hunt for food and to avoid being found.
- Craftsmanship and low-level smithing. He is able to roughly sew animal skins together to make clothing, craft spears and staffs from tree branches, and cut some gems though he will waste much of the stone. If he were to obtain the correct equipment, Vidarr could craft metal tools and weapons from the minerals found in peat-soil and rocks.
---Supernatural:- Extended lifespan. Though he will eventually age and die, Vidarr’s lifespan extends far beyond that of humans and furres.
- Regeneration. Though not as rapid as some stories suggest, Vidarr is able to heal faster than other creatures and given several months can even regrow limbs. Injuries that are more severe take longer to heal, but minor scratches may only take a few hours.
Weaknesses:- Unskilled in combat. Vidarr’s peaceful lifestyle means that he has not been taught to fight. He can swing a club and cause hefty damage, but he has no skills like swordplay or tactics.
- Lack of intelligence. While Vidarr has some intellect, he lacks the abilities to comprehend philosophical thought and abstract concepts. Riddles and tricks can easily confuse and distract him.
- When the sun's rays touch his skin, Vidarr will almost instantly turn into a piece of natural scenery. For example, if he has returned to the forest he will most likely turn into a boulder of similar size, but if he were in a field he might turn into a small hill instead. Vidarr will refer to this as “sleeping” because when he wakes at sunset he will feel well-rested and refreshed. While “sleeping” if someone were to swing a pickaxe at or try to chisel away pieces of the boulder or hill, it would bleed and Vidarr would later wake up with cuts and injuries relevant to those inflicted on the boulder.
