A brief description of your character:
A girl who gladly brags about her feats to keep a crowd pleased, who isn't ashamed of doing whatever it takes to fill her stomach and is quick to use her unique special features along with her skills to get her hands on your wares. Is what she wants to be. Too much of a coward, without any confidence, she does her best to live through the day on what she can manage to steal without getting caught and beat up.

As an otter she's a naturally good swimmer and along with that she's got a nice coat of fur for such occasions.
---Learned:
An expert at picking locks. Not only did she become so good at it because it meant she would get her hands on food and the like but also because it's something she's good at. And she always wanted to excel at something.
Decent cut purse and pick pocket, though despite her skill she's often too nervous to properly perform the job.
All in all she could be considered a pretty good thief, good at sneaking, hiding though aside from the lock picking, tends to fail fairly often due to being nervous and lacking confidence.
Can count, add, subtract etc. The basics of math. As far as letters and reading goes though, she's oblivious.
---Supernatural:
Here we get to the interesting parts. Her fur and skin can change colors and form complex patterns and aside from amusing kids it makes her somewhat excellent at hiding. The changes are quick and fluid and in fact very similar to that of an octopus.
In addition to this she has a limited ability to change her shape. She's a bit softer and more malleable than an average person which allows her to stretch out and bend in ways that would severely hurt a normal being and if she is given some time she can even alter her structure to look like a different species. The focus required for this means she can't talk or move at all however.
She uses these two in combination to hide, sneak and otherwise avoid being seen but it also means she can slip herself free from restraints or through bars in a prison cell etc. At times she discards her clothes to optimize her camouflage.
Weaknesses:
She's fairly small and weak and in no way any useful in a fight more than as a distraction.
On rare occasions she might act like she's got confidence but 99% of the time she's scared, worried, nervous and stuttering and this tends to negatively affect anything she tries to do except picking locks, unless of course, extremely scared, worried or nervous.
Despite her excellent abilities to avoid detection her color changing fur has one disadvantage. If she's too scared, worried or the like her fur will end up completely white and that tends to make her fairly visible. Similarly other strong emotions also colors her fur but usually she's never trying to hide when that happens and thus it isn't much of a disadvantage.
If she's suddenly scared, yelled at, threatened or otherwise in a situation that would REALLY startle/scare someone there's a possibility she might "let it flow" so to speak. As you might expect failing to keep ones bladder under control is of course quite rare but when it happens it's of course infinitely embarrassing and degrading and aside from being beaten up one of her greatest fears.
She's got a slightly feral and very submissive behavior, the result of the way she's been treated, and in addition she's pretty naïve and uneducated which means she's the perfect person to trick, deceive, manipulate and otherwise take advantage of.
