Emptiness!

Is everyone away or something? SH has been EMPTY for the past few days. I only see Kinzor pass by now and then. Ropejesus requires additional RPz ):

I've been getting the same thing. log in. no one. stay for an hour. "aw forget it." log off.

I know why I'm not in SH. It can be put into a few steps.

1. Sit in full OOC room.
2. Announce going to IC.
3. Wait for quite a while.
4. Return to full OOC room.

I usually log on to RP and unfortunately end up doing nothing in the OOC room. It's hard to explain but I get this feeling that it's not even worth trying to start anything anymore. I can't say I've asked around much for any RP but seriously, should I have to? It's like everyone is reluctant to actually RP, declining it for one reason or other and now we've reached a stage where no one even tries anymore, me included. At least that's the way I have come to see it. Perhaps we need more people, perhaps we need some plot to get everyone together and RP a bit. I dunno.

For now I am roleplaying in Creoso.

Option #1: Remove OOC room, replace it with an IC/OOC room like Northkeep's rug room. People can start RPing in there and other people can join in, this doesn't happen in a pure OOC room.

Option#2: Toggle OOC room. !EnableOOC allows people to warp to the OOC room. !DisableOOC kicks everyone out of it to some spot that are in it and removes further ability to teleport there. Good for keeping people from creating a great big pit of OOC if you're trying to get plot RP going.

Option #3: Upload closer to the Imag corner, the farther away from it you are the more poisoned your dream becomes. It's nothing but death and despair this far down the Imag road. Also have a weekly plot event or something to stir up roleplay and keep people around. It doesn't have to be good plot, just something that a group of people can interact with one another with. Watching two people fight in the arena doesn't count. Even players can host little plot events, you don't need DMs to do it, just don't mess with the dream or continuity. :)

Well, we already guessed the OOC room might have been a bad idea.

But frankly, we expected more active RP and player-ran plots here in SH compared to NK, as people have a lot more freedom now. We stepped away from the Rah system and to a DM system for just that reason. You don't have to ask us if you want to stir up stuff, as long as you keep it to a reasonable level and don't go about slaying an army of gnolls on your own and come out unharmed.

I do have to admit there hasn't been much action done by us DM's lately. But most of us have been quite busy. I had exams, Eddard's starting college, Lauren hasn't been feeling all that good lately, Heimderp and Quinn are busy as ever and Lares is probably off derping at his harem until he can get his plot in SH started.

On the good side, this thursday is my last exam so after that I should steadily become more active. Though I can't get things started if there's no players around. And I'd appreciate some player-input as well to get some RP started.

It's just that I have to get stuff together, to sign up for univerity...then I was in London...
And I have to prepare another plot to, for my P&P round....I FINALLY CAN RP WoD, YAY!

Easy to explain my inactivity: Exams. They don't leave me with much spare time and then RP'ing ain't on the top of my list xP When exams end and summer hits I'll probably become more active.

I don't have much time to drop alts on and casually RP, sadly. I'm usually either working at my "real" job, lifting, working on commissions, or hanging with my mate. It's like I can't find time to just log on one of my RP alts and get something going. (Or when I try, Furc explodes. D<)

I'm going to endeavor to hang around on my RP alts more often! I may apply a couple more so I'm always in the mood for ONE of them, you know?

I really can't blame any of you busy persons. I've had exams myself so I haven't been all too active either.
The thing is, though, that we're losing a lot of people who're just giving up because of the boredum. The player-based RP didn't work like it should have (I blame the OOC room, really). We probably should have left some plothooks behind before every single mediator became busy.

The problem with US leaving plot hooks is that WE need to follow up on them when players investigate--it was hoped that people would come up with their own plot hooks. We just don't have the formula down yet. >.<

That being said, everyone is free to whisper me on my main alt, Heimdall, and see if I'm available for RP.

During the exam period my rp either sucks or the exam that follows the rp sucks.
Now the exams are over at last though so it's time to start plotting evil.
